The Thing looks a bit... odd to say the least.
It looks like some guy who has scar tissue covering his entire body.. specially the face with the way it's sorta deformed looking

*goes crazy* THING!!!!! Omg I love Thing!! When I was little I had this huge Fantastic Four activity book, and I would only do the puzzles that had Thing in them lol. *pets thing*
