I don't like both much, but somehow, hearing majority of No Doubt's works drives me insane.

Metallica = Well, to me it sounds like a jumble of guitar chords (I'm not saying all of their songs are like that. That's just most of them). St. Anger was the first song I heard by them, and it left a bad impression on me.
No Doubt on the other hand... Well, it's kind of mix-matched. Some songs are good, some aren't. But No Doubt gets my vote.
Though when Gwen Stefani went off to make that solo record...

I hate both of them immensely. I'd never listen to them intentionally.
Well... I think Metallica's a sad excuse for good music. No Doubt, however, doesn't fit my genre preferences.
So, obviously, No Doubt. Sigh.

No Doubt is my favorite band of all time.

I'm actually not overly fond of either. However I do like No Doubt better than Metallica, so No Doubt it is.

Go Nodoubt, I only like them because of Gwen Stefani solo career and like them because of their songs.

Metallica started going bad when they decided to make music videos. When they weren't trying to package something that the MTV crowd would swallow, they made some pretty kick-arse records. Now, though, they seem to me like a group of old men who are sad because they know they used to rock, but they just can't seem to make it happen anymore.
No Doubt is fun and doesn't try to be too serious. They get my vote.
