having recently finished The half blood prince (i will tkae this oppotunity to swallow my pride and say that i really enjoyed the book ) it got me too thinking.
if i had the power, what would i make as my Horcruxes?
and so i pose the question;
If you had the power to make a (or several) horcrux, what would they be?
(assuming noone had to die to make them... if you dont want them too ofcourse)
why?
and how would you protect them?

for myself i would have seven (seven being the number of death)

:a helm, with a Sapphire inscribed.
sapphires having all-seeing properties.

:a mace, with an Amethyst inscribed.
Amethyst representing Death.

:an amulet, with my personal mark inscribed, made of Quartz.
Quartz having magic-draining/storing properties.

:a pair of Greaves with silver inlaid and diamonds inscribed
diamonds and silver giving magical Protection.

:Armour made of black iron, inlaid with Jade.
black iron, having mythic properties of mundane protection and jade representing growth, and regeneration.

:a shield made of black iron, marked by my personal mark.

:a pair of Gauntlets, with Obsidian inscribed.
Obsidian representing magical power.

and in doing so becoming an avatar one with death.

Fiddedit: Just put a warning up there. People not finished w/ the book don't know what Horcruxes are yet.

I would choose something that nobody would expect, like a random tree in a forest, or a plain old coke bottle.

easily solved by destroying everything in the world.

Anyway, I'd definetly go with a random object. Just to be a jerk, I'd make a huge scavenger hunt leading to a fake Horcrux.

ooooh, a riddle all with the "at the sign of the prancing pony (which would ofcourse actually be a tree with a horse painted in a hole ) turneth south and proceed for 100 miles (south being the way you came)
all of whcih leads to a bottle of coke inscribed with a curese of malediction or somthing.

I don't have any plans of killing people in the future, so nothing. o.o

Hrrm. Well, seeing as I plan to take over the world someday, a Horcrux might come in handy. (Horcrux....It still sounds like something from a Dr. Seuss book to me....)

Probably one of my dragon jewelry pieces, 'cause I like dragons....Or maybe a Shaman King manga....

Well, um, aside from the whole killing-people-thing... Hm.

I'd put one inside an egg atop a giant cliff guarded by a... Um... I dunno. A
Nundu or something. And the egg would have like, seven shells, each shell made of... something cool. XD Like obsidian.

And, um, what was wierd was I thought Voldemort could have a Horcrux (though not by that name) BEFORE I read the book! Cause I was watching Thief Of Baghdad, and Jal'dua has one. O-o!

I'd only make two really.
The first i'd make into a pebble and magic it to the bottom of the ocean.
The second i'd make into an odd sock. I have several of those.
I doubt I'd need them ever again anyway

hmmm, maybe making a chaos dragon (born from an Emperor Chameleon dragon just to be nastay) could be a Horcrux instead of the Greaves

I'd take the underwear of everyone I've killed as trophies. Then turn them into Horcruxes!

Something that no one would want to destroy, like a priceless piece of art or an important part of history.

My sword and my pentacle necklace. I was thinking about a piece of sand in the ocean, but I'd be too afraid some fish would swallow it.
