It's a little late with the show being cancelled, is it? oO

Anyway, I can't wait for it to come out. Haven't watched Futurama in forever. :o

Yay...making stupid tv shows into movies. I can't wait. What's next, a Family Guy movie?

I just could never get into it. :/ Good concept, not funny. And I tried watching practically a whole season of that. (Family Guy too) And yeah, I am a fan of some of Matt Groening's work, esp. The Simpsons. I just think it sounds stupid, I mean, the show was cancelled-meaning it obviously wasn't popular enough...so why waste money on a movie? :/

I thought they were making a family guy movie? It was supposed to be on how Stewie thought he was gay or something... o_o

I love Futurama, I have started buying the DVD collection.

You can't beat Bender's humour, he cracks me up.

No, teh Family Guy movie was out almost a year ago;) , I think it's already in dvd in the US... Its pretty good, Stewie has a near death experience and went on an adventure, the movie itself is called Stewie: The Untold Story...

Anyway, I love Futurama! I think it is much, much better than the overplayed show The SImpsons...

It's my understanding that the show had pretty good ratings by a lot of people's standards, but Fox was looking for something to be a 'second Simpsons' with relation to viewing figures, and when it wasn't as popular they cancelled it- which is fair thick as The Simpsons isn't going to be topped by another animation like that...

Anyway, since it's cancelled, why not make a film? There are still loads of fans.

Matt Groening's been wanting to do a film trilogy to wrap things up since the show got cancelled. Looks like Fox finally let him do it, or at least one movie. I can't wait until this comes out. It will be the shizzle.

I can't believe I didn't know about this. It makes me sort of happy but I'm not overlly keen on tv show to film adaptations (oddly i can't think of any right now).

And for the record I much prefer Futurama to The Simpsons, it just got boring with the many many repeats BBC 2 showed, oh look Homer falling down a cliff, again.

And Family Guy is probably one of the best tv programmes ever made, I really have to get the dvd of the film.

I'll shut up now.

Hmm...actually I do remember a time I was into it... a little bit. I definetly preferred Simpsons but when I went to Berkeley last week for a lecture on The Simpsons, Futurama, and math, they had some funny clips- like one with a randomizer or something XD. OH! Someone asked about the movies. They said they are not sure if they are doing one for Futurama, but they really want to. The people were two writers for the Simpsons and Futurama.

And when does Homer fall off the cliff? Like...twice?

The episode where Bart wants to be a daredevil. He's about to jump Springfield Gorge on his skateboard, when Homer intervenes and stops him. However, Homer is standing on the skateboard and starts to roll down the slope towards the gorge, and does the leap himself. He thinks he's going to make it but just before he reaches the other side he plummets down and falls down the rockface, and ends up bruised and swollen and bleeding. It's actually pretty nasty, for a cartoon, it makes me wince.

Then the ambulance airlift him out onto a stretcher and load him into the ambulance. They then promptly crash the ambulance into a tree and Homer, on a wheeled stretcher, falls out of the back doors and back down the cliff again.

Isn't there another one where Lisa has to write a poem about a mountain or what not. And than Homer goes on top of that mountain and than breaks it? And I think he falls off. I'm not sure though.
