It's definately something I'd like to see, even though it does seem entirely fan based.

And the role of Link has to be easy to audition for! Just grunt and say Hyyah! :D

Awwwww man! That old cartoon is a classic.

"Well excuuuuuuuuuse me, Princess!" :P

I don't know. Personally, I think that animation should remain animated if made into a movie. There have been a handful of movies that tried to use real people to play their animated counterparts and fell short of expectations. Remember that Mario Bros. movie? How about that Garfield one?

I do seem to remember that Zelda cartoon. Anybody remember if it was part of that Super Mario Bros. show? o_O

Yeah. On Fridays, they would always show a Zelda cartoon instead of a Mario and Luigi cartoon.

Animation would be better.. and if this isnt by nintendo it will suck.. hehe

Nintendo annouced that they are thinking about moving into the movie business but if they do.. it wont be any earliar than summer 2006 ;)

This is the beginning of Nintendo going to the darkside....

The old cartoon sucks. That Link was so bad. Link was nobel in the games, he wouldn't talk like a dude and say "Well excuuuse me princess.." and all that. I hated the cartoon for ruining Link like that.
All the mario brothers movies were awful. There was a cartoon I liked of the mario brothers which kind of explained how they came down the pipes one day and ended up not in the sewer..but in mario land..

But still..the live actors were so dumb!

I like my silent ocarina playing, faerie loving, Link. I almost cried at the end of Ocarina of Time when Navi left him. Then in the Mask of Majora he goes looking for her and ends up in that weird version of Hyrule. Well I liked that game, but those two faeries were not Navi.

I don't want a link movie, CGI would be so much better.

And well, I don't think that he should ever "get" the princess because the most he ever does in the game is kiss her. Aww..unrequetted (sp?) love.

If I did the movie I would stick to most of the gaming script. Don't do anything off the wall, but try to stick to the game timeline. I think the princess should be there, and definately the theme musics, especially the lullaby on that is so sad and hauntingly beautiful.

Wow, when i first saw this post, I was thinking that this is one sick joke. After looking it up my self I can't wait to see it. I have yet to see one bad game movie, and by far I am sure this one will be great.
*it be better if I could be Link if it live action, lol.*

I have a bad feeling about this movie...because even though I don't play video games I know how popular the games are and just hope they don't destroy the games for the people that like games themselves. I think its a bad idea...but I probabley end up watching it anyway.

im having terrible, terrible flashbacks to that legend of zelda commercial from japan a few years back.
*goes and searches*
*finds.. cue scaryness*

It's going to be terrible. They're going to make it all stupid so that little kids watch it, and to add injury to insult while you sit through 2 hours of "emotional, Disney-inspired duets" between Link and Zelda and plot devices as subtle as a brick to the forehead, you'll have to listen to 3-year-olds whining about having to pee and wanting more popcorn.

Nothing is sacred anymore.

So very true.

I really hope they don't kill it too badly. DBZ the non-animated movie is probably going to be roadkill.....but LoZ non-animated will probably require a rope with a loop, for....reasons...

When this movie is released, I'm going to be that guy in the front of the line picketing the downfall of society. Yes, I think it's going to be THAT bad.

look at it this way.
least they dumped the old "Paul W.S. Anderson directing a metroid film" idea.
that man is about as subtle as WWE wrestling with bricks.
case and point? alien versus predetor, im still trying to figure how he did that one.
resident evil.. what the frag?
okay, event horizen was cool and all, but not metroid cool.
and if he messes up transformers for me im going to sign myself up for an asuylem right off, save everyone else the trouble when it hits me.

all in all: zelda film good, means no metroid film to ruin.
