I'd make it, like some metal thing or something that won't decompose at the bottom of a dump. That way nobody would ever find it, and if it didn't decompose, it would be there forever.

That is of course assuming that the person who created the Horcrux never needs to get it and use it for anything.

Uhm... I don't like the idea of splitting my soul into bits, so I don't think I would create any.
If I should... well, something big, like a statue, and possibly in a museum so nobody could destroy it
