The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

Let's face it. Who did you hear most on popular teenage/young-adult-geared radios that blast all the new rock/pop/hiphop/modern songs? Kelly Clarkson.

Where's Fantasia?. When's the last time you've turned on your local and heard a song from her being played frequently?.

What about Clay about 6 months after that season ended?.

Ruben, ever?.

I don't know if it's me or not but everytime I turn on the radio in the car, a Kelly Clarkson song is always in the playlist. There's always SOMETHING of hers. What's Kelly Clarkson?. A mix you'd call poprock.

Chris would've brought in the most money in the longrun, imo. There was a lot of songs I could envision him singing.

For those of you who are going to protest and insist another genre is more popular then those in my opinion I have selected, just look at tv commercials. You know, the ones with the popular beats like Black Eyed Peas on car or ipod ads?.

BUT! Did you guys happen to catch that rumour that was spread BEFORE the show on the messages boards of American Idol?. A person claimed they knew someone that either was in the band or editted the 'parting videos' and told him that they were making Chris' tonight and "they aren't going to like this". Kind of funny 6-8 hours later he's gone. Coincidence or not that's unusual.

I would assume that, yes, of course the parting videos are made before hand. The votes end the night before, they are tallied, and then the appropriate video is made. I'm not saying that the votes aren't influenced by the producers, as is the case for majority of these shows, but I don't think the parting videos and someone on staff knowing who was leaving are part of some big conspiracy. I think the contestants are most likely the only people who don't know the outcome prior to the airing.

Wow. That was totally unexpected.

Thank goodness I watch the show to be entertained. If I cared at all about the music scene in America, I'd probably be going into spite mode now.

-settles back comfortably with several hours of Megumi Hayashibara- It'll be interesting to see how the rest of this plays out. Chris is gone before Elliot; I don't know what to believe anymore.

Thu May 11, 2006 8:27 pm

Hey don't go bustin on Elliott now.
He's been the most consistant and the most improved while some others have been totally inconsistant in many of their performances.

Anyways.... I really didn't believe all the conspiracy theories about the show, BUT a few days ago.. think it might've been monday....
Someone spotted a pattern with the group photo on the main AI page.
I didn't understand it at all but apparently, there was some sorta pattern and the pattern indicated that Chris was the one that was going to be going home.
Now this is BEFORE anything happened.

Also, Chris leaving and joining apparently Fuel who just offered him lead singer position would be about the best thing for AI.
Just think about all of the coverage AI would get for introducing the world to a contestant that automatically gets picked up into a popular band.

Or maybe ppl just didn't vote as much as they should've b/c they thought he was safe... *shrugs*

Still sucks that he's gone, but it makes me feel better knowing that so many people are interested in him.

I'm glad Elliot went on. I was sure he was out too, but he really sung his heart out yesterday and if he can keep that up, I think he has a fighting chance. I'm glad Chris was gone though. Well, maybe not glad, that's a bit mean. But every time he sings he sounds terribly boring as if he was holding back what he could do, because I always felt he could do better than what he was showing us like he could really kick it out if he wanted to, but just...wasn't. Maybe he'll get his chance to do better without the constraints of the competition surrounding him.

Now Katharine just has to get kicked out. The girl's gotta go.

Chris was offered the lead singer position of Fuel back in the top twenty four, but he declined to stay on the show.

However, according to Ryan Seacrest's morning show, a very popular band (Ryan said it was a 'household name') offered him a position, and it will be announced tonight on NBC Extra. Chris didn't sound as happy as I, for one, would be if I heard a 'household name' band wanted me to be their lead singer, so I think he's either already clued in, or he suspects it is indeed Fuel again. We will see.

Ok so some bad stuff might have happened in his life and sure he wanted to provide for his kids but I he should've been getting a real job instead of wasting his time trying to win a competition. There are plenty of jobs out there and just because he didn't win AI doesn't mean that his kids are going to starve to death or anything. It's not like he died. Why cry your eyes out over that but not every time you see a 'Christian Children's Fund' commercial? I'm sure the other contestants had valid reasons for wanting to win also. And I did watch the show, for the first few seasons. Then I found something better to watch. It really didn't matter to me who won the contest because they'd just be another face in Hollywood.

I know all of the people in the top 4 are good, but HOW could Chris go before Elliot? He doesn't have a good voice, isn't very appealing, and doesn't have much of a personality. Yes, I'm still upset about the Chris thing (I actually cried) but seriously, Elliot is NOT a better singer or performer than Chris. However, the one who should have left before Elliot based on Tuesday's performances was Katharine.

For now, if I continue watching it, I'll be rooting for Taylor. I always liked him but I never really expected him to win. Now that Chris is gone though, anything is possible. Also, I don't care for Elliot and Katharine.

Oh, and one more thing. I HATED how Ryan delivered the news. It was like "So people thought you and Kat would be in the bottom two, but Chris, you're going home." Pretty cold.

Wow. I personally don't like Chris but I was shocked that he went over Katherine. I mean even she was shocked. Oh well ...

It's still Fuel. I wouldn't call them a 'household name' but they offered again.

Oh, and did you know that the IDOLS-02 number was actually for Kat, not Chris? Recount!

http://www.postchronicle.com/news/enter ... 8249.shtml < Look at this

And I tried to vote, but I couldn't. It was consistently busy, and yet he had the LOWEST number of votes?

Getting a "real job"? He had a real job. But working at a car repair place doesn't get your kids into college. And again, if you are finding better things to watch, then go away. This thread is for discussing American Idol, not criticizing people that watch it. If you don't like the show, then for the last time... get out of the thread.

And the band that made the offer was indeed Fuel. I hope he accepts. I am very excited for this, but less excited because I thought it was going to be some sort of super band or something with Ryan's big hype. Seacrest is a nerd.

***

There is HUGE controversy going on right now. A lot of people who dialed the 02 number have reported to getting the voices of the other Idols, most commonly Katharine McPhee, but there are other people who say they also got it for Elliott and Taylor. A recount would be the best, but it's not going to happen. Chris fans know Chris is going home if they don't vote, so they're going to vote in hyperactive modes. It's not going to happen because it will set off the entire competition if it does.

EDIT:

A story for you all.

Over at the American Idol forums, we have sort of a mascot. Her name is Boey, and she's six years old. She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. And yes, she does exist. Boey has a website and all the jazz... it would be a bit hard to go through all of that if she was making it all up. Anyway, she loves Chris because he's bald like her.

And last Sunday, Boey received a phone call from Mr. Daughtry himself. Which I thought was... amazing. Because that's two days before he has to sing live, and I'm pretty damn sure things are very hectic then, but he still found time to call the family and talk to them for a long time.

So yeah. This man kind of really deserves to be taken as more than a contestant on a television show. He kind of really deserves to be taken as a great person.

Let me just say, for the record, that ALL of these contestants are real people.

Except for Kellie Pickler. She was faker than Paris's weave.

I know they're all real people. What I mean is that when you root for a contestant, you're not rooting for singing ability alone a good deal of the time, you're rooting for the person behind the talent. Which is why people get upset when their favorites leave.

I dont even like Fantasia, but I will say that I have infact heard her in a couple times in one of my local grocery stores. Shes making a TV movie now, actually. And has also been up for a Grammy or two. I don't really know how many.

And I told you where Clay is. :P

Eh, Chris going didn't really bother me. Pretty much everyone that getsthis close to the end of the show gets some kind of offer after the show along with the winner (though anyone but the winner is more by chance). Chris got what he worked for, so I it didn't end badly at all, and considering Fuel is a great band (when they were around), I'm excited for them to come back. Also, I heard something on the radio (once again, I don't know if there's any real reasoning behind this) that there was a predicted chance of each contestant winning. I may have remembered one or two incorrectly, I did just wake up. It's also to early for me to going into more detail than the numbers.

Taylor: 5:7
Katherine: 2:7
Elliot: 5:1
