The big screen and the small screen... together at last! Hurrah!

My guess as to Sylar's motives for killing/stealing people's brains is that the people he's been killing are all other Heroes/mutants. No, let me edit that slightly: the people he's killed AND taken the brains of are Heroes. What if the removal of their brains has something to do with acquiring their powers?

Er, sorry if that's been theorized to death in this thread already; I've only skimmed this so far. :P

As for the guy in the bar, my first thought was that he's Sylar. Who knows.

Wait, I think I've missed something. Where did we find out that DL can phase? oO

Yeah, we've already pretty much come to the conclusion that Sylar is stealing the heroes' brains to acquire their powers.

And we haven't been formally introduced to D.L. yet, but it has been confirmed that his power is phasing (like on the 9thwonders.com Forums).

Ah, alright. I feel kind of silly now, as I was all "I'm so smart! I came up with a plausible theory! :D " and then found out that everyone else had figured that out, too.

Oh well.

that's what I pretty much assumed.... but I don't see why the painter has to die.... it's like
"IM GOONA KILL YOU!!"
"NO - WAI???"
"CUZ I WANT TO PAINT TEH FUTURE!"
"When you can kill one of 10 others, and fly, have an evil twin, or become unbreakable.... instead you want painting powers?"
".................................................. yesh."

HE'S A VIKING! Vikings drink from the skulls of their enemies to gain their knowledge and power!

Ah, that makes perfect sense. No wonder he has freezing powers. And he can hide Thor's Hammer in his trenchcoat. :P

And TWW, he probably doesn't want the other heroes competing with him. That's why he's not going for Peter's absorbing power.

And perhaps he has an absorbing power, it's just a lot more gruesome.

There's been some other speculation that Sylar might have been Patient Zero, who I believe was the patient of Dr. Suresh Sr. That could be entirely possible - he was a patient that grew too powerful and escaped, so Suresh Sr. went to New York after him, when he was killed by his patient. Hmm...

God, one thing I like about this show is it makes you think. (Yeah, Lost is the same way, but this interests me more.)

I agree. I think he is patient 0. It would make sense that he had all of the Doctors research and a similar map. But how he knows about more is beyond me. Perhaps he "absorbed" *ate the brain of* a hero who was very intelligent and thus found a way to easily locate hero's. It is a possibility.

And ya know, I am not a huge fan of lost .. in fact not at all. Never got into it and I don't want to get into it. There is just so much Gilligan Island Gone Wrong I could take before it just got way too old.

Nah, I just think he got incredible powers that when he escaped he couldn't be stopped.

And one reason I don't like Lost is that it reminds me of the book Lord of the Flies too much. But that's offtopic. ;)

No one is "unstoppable." Look at Claire .. while she is unable to die persay .. as long as you keep the thing that initially killed her in the same spot, she is stoppable.

And I totally agree. I didn't like that book and I don't like the LotF-esque show.

The single most awesome reason for why tomorrow is going to pwn ... Claire getting out of the morgue and taking revenge upon the quarterback. That bloke is going down!

Okay, I'm sorry for posting this right after the episode aired, but I have to.

-------------- SPOILERS BELOW --------------

Okay, so I'm sure now that the black guy is Sylar and HRG is like the kingpin or whatever. And he knows who all the heroes are now?! :o I think when he said to "take the one" he meant Nikki, because she has a big power. Plus in an interview, the actress that plays Nikki said that more will be revealed about her in episodes 4, 5, and 6, and this was episode 4. I'm thinking part of her story will involve D.L., so he'll be introduced next week.

Ohmygod, Hiro from the future. I had a feeling that was coming. But still, that was so freaking awesome. xD And it looked like he had a giant sword on his back.

Haha, Claire totally pwned the quarterback. The morgue was freaky though. o_o

And did anyone notice anything a bit odd with the hotel Hiro and Ando were gambling at? It was the Montecito from NBC's show "Las Vegas". Shameless plug. xD

And the whole thing with "Save the Cheerleader | Save the World", I think that doesn't have to do with saving her from dieing or whatever, I think it means saving her from going to the dark side. Because her dad is HRG man and I think he might try and get her to go on his side. Plus even though she got back at the quarterback, the look in her eyes scared me...

This show is officially awesome.

The bad: Why are all the characters hooking up now? The Petrelli brothers still suck in my book- at this rate, it's gonna become a mashup of Lost (Petrellis = Jack/Kate/Sawyer) and Grey's Anatomy. Also, what happened to Mohinder? One little setback and he's decided to become extremely sceptical?

The eh: Only 5 minutes of Mr. Police-Matt?

The great: Claire's opening scene completely grossed me out, but other than that, it was great to see her back in action. I don't really agree with killing a guy...but it seemed really understandable in her situation- after all, he raped and killed her. She gave him a chance to redeem himself, and he didn't. At least no more women'll get raped. Plus, the crash looked really cool! :P I hope she'll face consequences for killing him though.

Hiro and Ando- still very awesome. Especially Ando's English. And future Hiro totally made the episode for me- speaking English fluently, coming in with a samurai's sword, and foreshadowing that Peter's gonna get a disfiguring scar on his face? Whoooaaaa.

Nice to see Niki's alter-ego finally come into play. Still...sleeping with a jerk Petrelli makes her lose points in my book.

As much as I didn't like how short Matt's appearance was, it made me curious. I have to wonder how Matt, Niki (who has that weird tattoo!), and Nathan are gonna end up...
