Okay, so the teams for The Amazing Race 8 are revealed. (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race8/)

I don't want to sound ever the cynic, but do you really think that one of those "two kids" family is going to beat the all-adult teams? I'm also mad because there should be considerably less drama (probably more "I'm tired/I wet the bed/I'm homesick" drama, though) because they don't want to argue in front of kids.

._. I'm not looking forward to this season at all.

Yes, it looks incredibly stupid. I don't want to see an 8 year old boy or a 9 year old crying that they miss their toys or friends or whatnot. They should've at least raised the age to 15+. That's ridiculous.

Yeah, and I wouldn't want to be dragged on this if I were young. I mean, yeah, I'd want to see the world, but not in a stress-filled race! And then the parents may use them to beg for money, tickets ("My daughter is dying of lymphoma... can you get us tickets?"), and help to get places.

I also find it odd how the one African-American family is called... Black.

._.

I know, I could so picture it.

"Sweetie, pretend you have cancer and cough a lot for the nice tourists,"

"But I do,"

"Excellent,"

---

Also, I thought it was funny that the African-American family was called Black, I was like "What the ????"

You can bet the only reason they let in kids so young is to get back that "This is a family show" feel.
With the last few seasons it's been more adult oriented with the fights and such that have gone on.
I'll still watch it though. I'm sure the ones with the young children won't last very long... or maybe they will... who knows...

"In this Roadblock, one member of each team must perform a native jump-roping dance of New York City." :P

I want to be proven wrong, but I just don't see how anyone under the age of 14 can contribute to his or her team. Those kids are just going to be dead weight, though at least they'll be easier to carry than the dead weight of previous seasons (Flo comes to mind).

The orange-shirted team in the top-left looks pretty formidable. I'm gonna place an early bet on them. The team of three brothers and what looks like their dad looks sort of athletic, but homogeneously male and female teams rarely make it far in this game.

I accidently moved my family over the pictures of the families at the bottom and it went over the African-American family, and the word "Black" popped up and I was so confused for a few moments until I realized that the pop-up was the family name haha...

I don't know how I feel about family Amazing Race. I always liked the 2-people dynamic.

Wow, 8 and 9 year olds. I feel sorry for those kids. Can you immagine when they get elliminated. You can tell we will have one kid who is a whiner, espessially under such stress, and when they are elliminated, oh boy, that won't be fun to watch.

The orange shirted team, and the tem of 2 brothers look like they could make it to the end.

Actually it's a lot easier for kids to get money than it is for an adult. Also, I'd personally have loved this as a kid, I would get annoyed and frustrated and smurf obviously, but I've always hated sightseeing, so this is like great! Kids will slow them down a lot though, but I think taht's supposed to be part of the challenge. I know I'll be screaming at the tv though when I watch those kids whinning all the time, but I figure it's a good way to get out frustration. :P

It's also easier for kids to GET KIDNAPPED AND SOLD IN UNDERGROUND...eh, you get the point.

I hate how on another forum, they're whining about 9-year-old Carissa being a racer, completely ignoring the fact that Austin of the Black Family is a year younger, and no one's complaining about him. Sexism? Racism? Take your pick.

Here's hoping she doesn't become Dakota Fanning a la War of the World's.

xD I love you.

That'd be funny if she became like Dakota Fanning. :P Maybe if they were in SE Asia after the tsunami.

I can't wait until the Black family (xD I'm sorry; I'm not racist, it's just everytime I say that I have to laugh) goes to Africa. Then it will be the stereotypical "teary return-to-homeland" that we see in all the other races, except it will be times four! :O

You can just look at the Carissa twit and know she's going to be a whiny brat.

I wouldn't count them out just because they are young. Working with kids-I know some of them would be pretty good at something like this. They may not be able to read maps or whatnot, but they still have strengths.

And who would have thought Bob and Joyce would have made it as far as they did.

You just never know.
