i'm afraid to ask, but does anyone listen to progressive music here? rock, metal, whatever. it doesn't matter. just prog in general.

i'm talking Yes, Abydos, Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Aghora, Pain of Salvation, Queensryche, Symphony X, Rhapsody, Anathema, Nightwish, Andromeda, Star One, Dead Soul Tribe, Shadow Gallery... and two of my personal favourites; Ayreon and Opeth.

me and some friends have been getting into Ayreon because Opeth's frontman did some vocals for the latest album; the Human Equation. amazing rock opera.

so, does anyone have any idea what i'm yammering on about? D:

I like Evanescence, but it's really nothing like Ayreon's stuff beyond some operatic ladyvoices. The mastermind behind it, Arjen, plays guitars and bass and keyboards and then invites guest vocalists. Every song seems different, and you have to listen to the entire album to get the story. The sounds range from metal to folk to... SPACE MUSIC. :O
