The 2 of the 3 living members of Queen (Brain May & Roger Taylor) will be touring together again as Queen in April 2005. Former Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers will be the singer for the band. Now it is unsure if former Queen bassist John Deacon will be participating with the tour. It will be in Europe. For sure they will not be as successful as they were when Freddie Mercury was alive.

I don't think that's the real aim of the tour, though.

I think Paul Rodgers is a decent fit. Of course Freddy is unreplaceable, there's no argument there, but I can see Rodgers' voice working.
Now if only they decided to tour North America...

Their first gig with Rodgers has been annouced. They have signed on to play at the Nelson Mandela 46664 AIDS Awareness Concert in Fancourt, South Africa, on March 19. What a surprise that their first gig has something to do with AIDS.

I might like it with someone else singing.
The main reason I don't like queen is because I can't stand Freddie's voice

Wha??? How can you not like his voice?
In terms of technique, he's probably the most talented Rock tenor. Possibly second only to Stevie Wonder.

Freddie...god Freddie. I am a Queen fanatic, and I give my soul to Freddie Mercury.
Ok, now in all serious, I don't think it will sound as good without Freddie, but I give them props for trying again. I just hope they make it a tribute to Freddie's memory.

Have you listened to the Queen song "Somebody to Love" with George Michael singing the lyrics?
Its fantastic, and easily as good as Freddie himself, in fact, I like this version more than the original

I think that they should hire someone with a good voice and is out of work like David Lee Roth even though he's not a real good fit for Queen.
