Discuss music in any form from rock bands to Britney Spears' latest VMA performance. It's all good!

Anyone else listen to any Asian music?
I usually listen to Japanese stuff (JPop and JRock), but I do listen to some KPop.
My favorite Japanese artists are Hamasaki Ayumi, Aikawa Nanase, Gackt, GLAY, L'arc~en~ciel, TOKIO, Mr. Children and Hirai Ken.
As for Koren, I listen to Boa (although you could put her in JPop), Se7en and SES.

L'arc-en-ciel & Asian Kung-fu generation. Yup.

I don't really listen to too much asian music so i don't know any of their names. I listen to JPop sometimes.

I listen to a LOT of J-pop and J-rock. Asian Kung-Fu Generation is one of my favorite bands. XJapan, Akeboshi, L'arc-en-ciel, Utada Hikaru, Flow, The Pillows, Nana Kitade, Kotaya Kinya...

I'm guessing you can count music in Farsi as Asian.
My dad listens to it all the time. Blasting. x_x

Aaah! L'Arc-en-Ciel ROCKS!
I recently got into J-Pop...my mom got me a couple of CDs for Christmas, and I got hooked on it.
I also have a strange addiction to Puffy AmiYumi even though I'm the LAST person on earth you'd expect to like that stuff...

I thought I liked Asian Kung-fu Generation, but I listened to one of their CDs, I'm Standing Here, and wasn't that impressed. As for Utada Hikaru, I used to like her. I listened to her latest English album, and it wasn't good.
And The Pillows rock. My boyfriend really likes them, too, which is good since there aren't many groups we agree on.
I would say that I consistently have enjoyed Ayumi Hamasaki's music. Almost every album I hear has at least one good song, if not more. I love Nanase Aikawa, but she seems to be doing more ballads lately and less rock.

A few Kpop and Jpop, some music from anime I suppose...e.g. Last Piece from GTO (I love that song ^^)
I never or incredibly rarely listen to canto-pop or pop songs in mandarin >.> Because I don't like them

I enjoy various Asian rock/pop, but as I tend to listen to it on the various video shows on International Channel, I never know to whom I'm listening. I enjoy Utada Hikaru's older stuff, but I really disliked her English album. I'm sorry, but Easy Breezy made me want to gag, although I did rather like Animato.
I like Tommy February6, Ayumi, L'arc En Ciel. I really enjoy listening to the Korean/Chinese pop they show on IC as well, but I don't know the names of any of the singers. Not to mention the Hindi stuff they play at 3am. That can be very fun. ^_^ I've also heard one Thai pop cd...but I can't remember the name of it, it's been too long. It was very hyper, to say the least.
I tend to listen to a bit more French music than Asian, simply because I discovered Mylene Farmer, Alizee, and Axelle Red back in the hayday of Napster (free version), so I was able to sample them before buying the cds. I haven't had that opportunity with Asian music, and so I'm left sort in the dark.

Ayumi Hamasaki is awful, imho. =P
Lárc~en~Ciel, Kokia, Do As Infinity, Boa, Gackt, Miyavi for me ^__^

Really the only Asian music I have the opportunity to listen to is through anime. But Scintilla really enjoys listening to the I've girls (especially Kotoko) so I have a couple of their songs thanks to him.
I've heard and enjoyed some Flow, Asian Kung-fu Generation, Massmissile (all thanks to their contrabutions to the Naruto soundtrack), the pillows (FLCL) and DROPS (Sensei no Ojikan).
And now I am horribly addicted to Beat Crusaders "Hit in the USA" (Beck) O.O

I'm obsessed with japanese music. I normally listen to Asian-Kung Fu Generation, Ayumi Hamasaki, and Megumi Hayashibara (I'm pretty sure the songs from Slayers got me into asian music in general), but my music collection has been expanding recently. I'm really into Rie-Fu, Orange Range, Sowelu and Supercar at the moment. I'm also a fan of THE SCANTY, ZONE, Gackt and Nami Tamaki just to name a few. I enjoy listening to L'Arc, but for more rockish japanese music I really like Luna Sea from what I've heard.
