Evanescence - The Open Door

Wed Jul 19, 2006 10:20 pm

The Door Opens October 3rd! AKA in normal language Evanescene's sophmore album to the multi-platinum major-label debut Fallen, the Open Door, is going to be released on OCTOBER THE THIRD. After more than 3 years of waiting, this album is MOSDEF going to be something to look for.

The lead single, Call Me When You're Sober, is coming August 7th on the radio. A trailer has been released:

Something worth watching, regardless of whether or not you're in the Evanescence fandom or not. The clip is a track off the album called "Lacrymosa", which samples Mozart's Requim.

Wow! I never saw that trailer, when was it released Tyrannitar? And thanks for posting it!

As for this album, I can't wait because, this is one of the albums I'll be first in line for! Go Ev!

Wow Ammer, you haven't? It's been on Youtube/AOL/ect. for quite a while now. Check EvBoard and EvanescenceWebsite for better updates than the official EV webbie, they're slow. :P

NEWS: I was bored, so I searched for 'Call Me When You're Sober' on Youtube. (you never know!) I found this:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=OheAw4Hzvt8

Don't bother going there though; it claims to be the 25-sec piano intro to the song, but there is neither video or audio with that clip. Apparently, the uploader has this to say:

im sorry guys. I tried to merge the song with the blank video but the audio doesnt seem to play. Since i cant just post an mp3 .. im trying to make it into a video, but its not working. I've got the full album (minus the cover - W-I-P) since my aunt works at Sony

Assuming he's telling the truth, it appears as if he may be able to upload the intro, the entire song, or the entire album on to YouTube. However, if Wind-Up were to find out, they would probably fire that guy's aunt and put them on the blacklist at all record stores or something like that.

If you have an account on YouTube, it is highly advised you do not ask him to send you the entire album; it will most likely contain viruses for audio files which only seem like the song. It might not, it might. You decide.

It is only a few seconds, but it's something. Call Me When You're Sober - coming in only 6 days to radio!

On a side note, EvTeam Portugal has confirmed that the video will premiere on MTV USA in TWO DAYS. Yes, keep glued to the tube on July 28th, 2006!

The song leaked. Guess who has it?

LYRICS:
Don’t cry to me.
If you love me, you would be here with me.
You want me, come find me.
Make up your mind.

Should’ve let you fall,
Lose it all,
So maybe you can remember yourself.
Can’t keep believing,
We’re only deceiving ourselves,
And I’m sick of the lies,
And you’re too late.

Don’t cry to me.
If you love me, you would be here with me.
You want me, come find me.
Make up your mind.

Couldn’t take the blame,
Sick with shame.
Must be exhausting to lose your own game.
Selfishly hated,
No wonder you’re jaded,
You can’t play the victim this time.
And you're too late.

So, don’t cry to me.
If you love me, you would be here with me.
You love me, come find me.
Make up your mind.

You never call me when you’re sober,
You only want it ‘cause it’s over - it’s over.

How could I have burned paradise.
How could I, you were never mine?

So, don’t cry to me.
If you love me, you would be here with me.
Don’t lie to me, just get your things.
I’ve made up your mind.

NOTE: Not distrubting publicly.

The song is pretty good and I do like it. I'm just a bit nervous as to how well in will do on radio and in mainstream as a whole. I hope this song proves to be a huge hit.

A clip from the video "Call Me When You're Sober" (There's a red background over it from the original "Open Door" trailer but it's easy to see through)

This video looks amazing; Amy looks so beautiful and I love those ghostly Asian dancers, awesome. Although, I was at first "Why does Amy have four Japanese women in the background?". Heh.

The video! It was released in some European countries last Tuesday, and there it is on Youtube. =) How excellente!

Gah.

I can't view the video. All the ones on youtube have been deleted, and MTV apparently doesn't work for non US viewers.

Anyone got suggestions? I'm dying here!

The video is near the end of this clip of "Making The Video: CMWYS",
