Favorite Musical?

Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:09 pm

I really didn't know where this belonged. So, since it had the word Music in the title, I decided to place it here. ^^

Lately, since I've participated in a lot of musicals, I've gotten sucked into the world of Broadway. Anyway, I just wanted to know all of your guys' favorite musicals, if you couldn't tell by the title. Here would be mine:

Ragtime: The music? Phenomenal. The plot? Heartwrenching. The message? Clear, and a beautiful one. You'd have to see it, I cannot explain it's awesomeness.

Seussical the Musical: It's the musical my grade in school is doing this year, and I'm all hyped up for it. All my friends are probably scared of me at the moment, it's the only thing I can talk about. The music is freakishly catchy, and the plot has slowly been unraveling to me as I've listened to the music and re-read my favorite Dr. Seuss tales. The Grinch and Yurtle the Turtle are great cameo appearances, and there is a small mention of Truffula Trees (anyone read that story?) in one of the songs. It's basically about a mix of all sorts of Seuss tales, mainly Horton the Elephant, The Thinks you can Think, and Getrude McFuzz. :P

Ironically, both are written by the same guy, Stephen Flaherty. Man, that guy is amazing.

Hmm, besides Kiss Me, Kate there's Evita, Moulin Rouge, Jesus Christ Superstar (awesome music XP), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (awesome music there too), and A Chorus Line.

I'd live in a theatre if I could :P I want to see The Lion King, it looks so awesome. *begs for tickets*

My favorite musical is Jesus Christ Superstar. I saw it in history class when we were studying religions, and it was really great.
