When I read the posts on this subject I was pretty surprised. It's been my expereince that everyone loves linkin park, so those of you who said you didn't like them... thank you! My type of music is rock and I love all forms of it. But when it comes to linkin' park, I just don't really understand what all the fuss is about. One of the things that I find annoying in their music, which is pretty much one of the reason that so many people like them, is that they incorporate rap into the rock song. I hate rap, and I don't want to listen to that in what is supposed to be rock music! I don't know, maybe I'm just too picky, but I can barely stand them.

*cough* I was being sarcastic.

Um... I wasn't referring to your post in any way shape or form. I was talking about my experiences with my friends and other people.

Hehe, I like rap, maybe that's why I like them quite a bit^_^ heh.

But also, a lot of the lyrics are really good, such as Place For My Head (That's the name... Right? I'm not great with song names :) ) Anyway, I think the lyrics in that song are awesome. Lots of poetic stuff^_^

I personally don't think they're posers, but not all the bands are for everyone^__^

But if they want to be rock or metal you have to have some fight about a current issue or something other than love, the only people that can talk about love was the 80's hair metal bands. You must have fight in your lyrics other than love, then it's sappy and crap. And you must forget about poetry, it doesn't matter, if your gonna be a metaler forget poetry.

I disagree with you.

Metal bands can talk about love and poetry if they want. There isn't one way to do a music genre (If that made any sense). Any metal can write poetry in their songs if they want, you can metal out of poetry.

LP is great. I like the CD they did with Jay-Z (Collision Course right?) and Meteora

I'm loving LP right now although I did hate Reanimation. Got to be the best band I've ever seen live.

Place For My Head is my favourite Linkin Park song to listen to, the music is so heavy, and it's such an angry song, but I relate the most to Faint.

I agree with Ammer. I personally don't find much good in songs that say soemething like 'I hate you, cus you're so mean' or something, rather than something that actually means something deeper. Then, that's just my opinion.

Good music can be about anything you like.

This 'don't write about love it's sappy' embodies this mainly American nu-metaller stereotype.

I just love "From the Inside" except for that part at the end when its like... That part that stretches on and on.
I just hate that part.
Other than the screamy parts, and the rap parts, they rock.

I like that they incorporate rap into their music. It shows that they have an open mind and try to go into the deeper meaning of other genres (such as rap, but I won't go into that :P )

Anyway, my sister has Meteora and Collision Course. I like what I hear in Meteora though I haven't heard much of it. I love Collision Course. I like the beat and rythym, and the fact that it's 2 different genres incorporated into one is awesome. I love a variety of music, and I personally think it sounds great.

vkceankraz, I think I've told you before, but you have great taste in music ;)
