I know us being generation X and all we love our music. Music that our generation listens to. But i for have started to get interested in older musicians. Like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, and the Doors. So i was just wondering if you like old music better than our "new" music and if so what musicians do look up to.

I've always liked The Boss, no real admiration though. Just good music.

I hate calling it older music.

Time has given us some perspective so we are able to forget most of the mediocre crap from years gone by, so only the cream stands out (cream of what it isn't always clear). That being said, you wonder what will be indicative of our tastes 40 years from now. I hate to think of my generation being defined by Brittney Speares and bad boy bands.

I do love me some old music, I make a habit of putting the Purple Rain soundtrack on my daily playlist, and listen to Hendrix and Marley until my brain bleeds green goop. We all know 'em, we all love 'em; they're those awesome musicians from wayback-when

You forgot the quote marks on 'bad boy' bands.

Thank you for throwing that out there.

Apparently they were getting back together for a concert or two. If they decided to go on the road, I'd be so incredibly pumped. Eric Clapton is amazing and Ginger Baker ain't half bad either. :D

I love Eric Clapton! I remember my brother first got the CD and I was wondering who he was. Then I started listening and fell in love.
My brother also got me into The Who, Rolling Stones and many other bands I always considered "old".

If I listen to any older music it's mostly from the 60's and 70's. I absolutly love the Beatles. Sometimes I listen to someone from the 80's like Blondie. But I'm all for old school...and I mean old school as in nothing from the decade I was born.
