I've come across some odd manga premises on-line, and sometimes it just makes me shake my head in wonder. Ask me about any topic, and I can almost guarantee that there's a manga for that (note that I haven't read any of these, so I have no idea if they're any good or not):

Werewolf (the game)? Doubt by Tonogai Yoshiki
Chainsaw massacres? Saitama Chainsaw Shoujo by Sakurazaka Hiroshi
Einstein's theory of relativity? Global Garden by Hiwatari Saki
The history of Pompeii? NG Life by Kusanagi Mizuho
The invention of cup noodle? Project X: Cup Noodle by Katoh Tadashi
and there are even odder ones I can't even mention with this being a kid-friendly site...

So what strange topics have you found manga for?

I'm not really a Manga fan, but are there any Manga Versions of:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail,
Count of Monte Christo,
Pit and the Pendulum,
South Park,
Titanic
Some other recent popular movie, tv series, etc.?

I'm not sure about most of those, but my brother gave me a graphic novel adaptation of several of Poe's works for Christmas last year... I'm pretty sure the Pit and the Pendulum has been done.

And there are manga versions of many classical stories, although they usually have a Japanese twist on them (not surprisingly). One that springs to mind is Arabian Nights.

Oh, there's also a manga about kids trying to steal the answers to the entrance exam for Japan's most prestigious university -- wasn't there a movie of kids trying to steal the SAT answers?

Now that I've had a day to think about it, I do remember seeing a Manga version of The The Scarlett Letter when I was at the House of Seven Gables a few months ago. It was in their gift shop along with the other books.

I found some mangas for Red Riding Hood but they aren't kid-friendly.

There is a manga version of Romeo & Juilet.

There's a manga version of Crime and Punishment (called Crime and Punishment, but in Japanese).

There's a historical manga in which the characters are countries.

There's a manga featuring Jesus and Buddha as college-age roommates in modern society (and yes, it is as sacrilegious as it sounds, or at least the first chapter was).

There's one all about curry (Addicted to Curry); it includes a curry recipe in each chapter.

Kokou no Hito is about solo mountain-climbing (loosely based on an actual historical Japanese solo climber) -- this one's actually pretty good, though a bit dramatic.

That book is sold at CliffsNotes. They also sell Manga books for Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Hamlet, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Romeo and Juliet.

Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Just wanted to say, if you do read this, you'd best: have a strong stomach, not be in the dark, not be scared of blood, not be home alone, must be surrounded by happy fun things (just... no rabbits), and not be easy to scare... at all. Okay, I when I read it, it WAS about a year ago, but seriously I couldn't sleep for two days. It will mess with your head. Absolutely terrifying stuff. It IS pretty similar to werewolf the game, though.

But anyway! My friend has the manga version of Twilight. I've also seen manga versions of most of the most famous Shakespeare plays.

It looks a lot better than the novel itself.
