Hellsing!

Sun Oct 17, 2004 7:10 pm

Isn't this manga just the greatest? The anime is okay too, but I think the manga is better.

Alucard is just so much more wicked in the manga. :)

Here's a picture I drew of him:

I've only seen the anime, and only a few episodes of it, but it's still really, really good. Quite violent, but still good. Yay. ^_^

And that's a good piccy!

Hellsing is one of my all-time favourites of anime, Alucard is amazingly cool, I have a wallscroll...w00t.

My favourite episodes where the ones whenever he fought against Paladin Alexander.

I've never read the manga... but I LOVE the anime.
Alucard is the coolest vampire ever. Love the way he looks.
I think my fav episode out of them all is the last one... or the one where he's fighting that one wannabe vamp. Erm.. dunno what the name was but

SPOILER!!!!

There were 2 of them. And I think they might've been brothers or something? One was punky looking while the other was clean cut.. and they broke into the hellsing corp and raised some serious doodoo :P lol

Oh you have to read the manga! It's sooo much cooler than the anime! I mean, the anime is great and all, but it's just not quite as great as the manga.

Also, Alucard is much more sinister in the manga and more violent. It's fun!

I haven't watched it but I'm so sure I'll love it. Someone drew manga about it (her style) and has it on keenspace.

He looks so cool. Intergra is cool too ^^

Never read the manga either.. but the series was good! I wish there was more of it

The manga is stil being published in Japan. I think it's up to the 6th volume there. Volume 1-4 are translated to English and are available now, and I think 5 comes out next month.

After about the 6th episode, though, the anime doesn't follow the manga at all.

I haven't really gotten into Hellsing yet, though I've been very tempted too. What has kept me away is the violence. I'm not really a fan of blood and gore and I've heard Hellsing has a lot of it. I do love vampires and such, though. This thread makes me even more curious. ;)

Btw, this is something I've been wondering for a while. Does the Hellsing movie have anything to do with the anime/manga? Was there a Hellsing character in other literature?

Jasujo, Hellsing is the name of one of the orginal characters of Dracula, Alucard is Dracula spelt backwards, that Van Hellsin movie has nothing to do with the anime.

Really? I've read the original Dracula and I do not remember a Hellsing. I must go back and reread it.

Thanks for clearing it up about the movie and anime/manga, though. I didn't remember any other Hellsing, so I wasn't sure. :)

That's my fave anime ep too!
Because Walter-san gets to kick butt <3 (all the time saying he doesn't move like he used to when he was younger XD ) and Alucard-sama does that cool hellhound transformation. But mostly because of Shinigami Walter-san! -^____^- (Ehh, I can't remember the ep name either(I'll look and come back later...). I remembr thier names though, Luke and Jan(Yan). Jan's the foulmouth on fire and Luke's the dogfood. XD
I love their weather report in the 'next episode preview which is never an actual preview. XD
(Jan: Hey Brother, what's that on your head?
Luke: Aaahh!!
Well you're on fire.
Jan: Aaahh!!)
Actually that was the only one that was a preview... XD
Eep! I be rambling....
I'm rambling in mini-text!!!! Yeee!!!! XD

I wanted to get the manga of it but the bookstore didn't have it, so I had to get the one after it. ;_; (has 1 & 3)
Why does the blasted manga have to be so baka expensive too! X__X
I want to get the one with Rip-san!!!
I have the complete series boxset though! (For 50 bucks on Amazon! :P )

I have yet to see the hellsing anime but I have read through volume 3 of the manga ^_^

I finally got around to watching the anime, after much begging on my part to convince my dad to watch it as well. It was very good, but I figured it would end the way Fruits Basket did. No real conclusion, etc. I suppose I'll be investing in that manga as well. >.<

Von Helsing was the Professor in the original book.

Im sorry, but I really dont rate the anime at all. Artistically its not bad, I suppose, but the story is utter waffle. I didnt realise there was a movie, and I'll try and check it out. It might tie up some of the loose ends. But looking at how many loose ends there are... it had better be a very long movie...
