1. Global PPT Rules
This board is still part of PPT, therefore you still must follow the global forum rules. They are much more important than the local Anime/Manga Board rules, and will be dealt with more harshly. That especially includes backseat modding, double posting, and flaming/rudeness.
2. What's This Board For?
As the title of the board suggests, this board is for discussing things related to anime and manga. This of course means that you may discuss any anime or manga series that is appropriate. As well, you may discuss any topics that are usually associated with anime/manga, manga authors, anime artists, and even Pocky (Definition:
Pocky).
3. What is "Appropriate"?
First off, zero tolerance for hentai (Definition:
Hentai). Don't even mention it. At all.
Slash is a LITTLE bit more flexible. Slash includes ecchi, yaoi, and yuri. (Definitions:
Ecchi,
Yaoi,
Yuri). I'm going to borrow from the RP Board's rules: The most graphic thing I will allow you to discuss will be kissing. Anything beyond that will merit warnings and/or strikes, depending on the severity.
4. Respect Others
There will be no harassment of other members for difference of opinion. If someone dislikes your favorite series, well, more for you. Don't go after them for it.
Additionally, anime/manga fans use a lot of foreign vocabulary. If someone doesn't know what some term means, it generally means they are new to anime. If anyone asks what a certain Japanese word means, politely answer them, rather than calling them names or whatever.
5. Spoilers
Some people like spoilers. Some don't. It is okay to post spoilers, but please don't make them obvious. The most common way of posting spoilers is to make them in font size "1," like so:
Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father.
To read these spoilers, you may highlight the text and paste it into a word processing program, or you may simply quote the post and read it in the post prompt.
6. Legal Issues
Piracy is a big problem in the media industry, and despite what a lot of people tell themselves, companies DO suffer if people download their products instead of buying them. I will not judge you if you download licensed anime illegally. However, you will incur my severe wrath if you post illegal download links on PPT. Doing so will automatically earn you one strike, no matter the situation.
