I think the covers look great. Other conturies look horid.

I don't think so. Compare:

I honestly like the british version better. It would be quite interesting to see all the Harry Potter covers for one version which are sold in different countries.

I think the american versions are much better in my opinion, I like how its drawn kinda stylized but not too stylized to the point where it looks like a Picasso painting or Dexter's Lab. The british colors look kinda, I dunno...generic.

I'm not that bothered about covers, though I do prefer the British books themselves.

Besides, my American copies are mainly hardcover, and I take those stupid things off, so I never have to see them. =P

Mmm, creative...;)

Touche, Igg. Touche.

Either way, I prefer the color scheme. And...it's not just "Harry Potter," it's Harry-Potter-surrounded-by-the-haunting-doors-of-I-don't-know-what-I-haven't-read-the-book!

Ah, then the phoenix, by having sod-all to do with the plot really, adds even more mystique.

Actually I just think Harry looks dodgy on the US versions.

He is essentially, if you stripped down the voldemort attack thing, scar, parents dying, great courage because of this.. etc.

Not really. He's not that smart, really.

Exactly; looks are deceiving ;)

Paul, I hope you realise that by saying this and then agreeing with Cassi, you've completely contradicted yourself.
Hermione is a nerd, not the Harry.

Ugh, all of Koji's Suzuki's books seem to have bad covers. I like the version of Ring you have, wish I could have found that one. Trust me, it's annoying to read Ring in school. Everyone takes it from me just to look at the cover and make themselves dizzy. O__O;;

But I think what we're all learning here is, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." X__X Bad joke, I know, but it had to be said.

Hm. I confused myself.

Paul, so you're saying essentially he is a nerd, but he's not that smart really, so he isn't? Riiiiiiight.

The British one is better...

That's the only one I've ever seen. I definately prefer it though, and Im glad that I've never seen the others before. It's classy.. the American version reminds me way to much of the covers to illustrated books that I hated as a child (I didn't hate the books.. hated the covers).
