Post the most awful book covers you've ever seen here. I'll start us off with the lovely Danish version of Tamora Pierce's "Magic Steps":
Discuss.

Ew.
Practically any romance novel cover is terrible. It's always the same 2 figures in a passionate embrace, looking cheesy.

Chrome, that's so horrible that it's funny.

Wow, that is pretty dire.
The Tulip Touch- the one with the eye on the front. Makes it look like a very good book. It isn't.

I would have to say the American covers for the Harry Potter novels are quite horrid.

Aw, they're not
that bad.

That one is amazingly bad. I can't believe they couldn't come up with anything better.

I like the American Harry Potter covers though, they're nice.

Harry Potter covers from Finland are pretty strange. So are the American ones.
Ring by Koji Suzuki, while it's one of my favorite books, I hate the cover.
Why? Well that's why. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.

You can't seriously be comparing that to this.
I found a lot of Tammy Pierce books with horrible covers. Observe:
You would've never known it was a "lively, fascinating tale" because of the twisted, demonic look on Alanna's face.
That's supposed to be a boy, by the way. What were they thinking?
"Frida Kahlo? Is that you?!"

Those Finnish covers are bizarre.

They're noses seem a bit crazy. O__O The American ones are excellent when you compare them to the Finnish ones, but I like the British versions better than the American versions.
That cover for "Circle of Magic" down there is a bit crazy! His eyes really freak me out. X__X

That looks like someone just found the pen tool in Photoshop and decided to do a 20 minute doodle with it...
