Not sure if this is in the right place (mods, is it possible to move this if it's not?) but I've wanted to make a topic like this for a long time.
So... Is anyone here as obsessed with writing as I am, and have you ever been published?
Being a mere teenager, I have never been published in real life, but I have been published online many times. I am currently working on a fantasy novel (I love fantasy), I recently took an 8-week online writing course, and write whenever I can. I find that roleplaying (I do it mostly on Neopets) really helps me improve the quality of my work.
Any other writing fanatics out there?

Well...
I want to write childrens books one day (and illustrate them. Mainly I want to illustrate them... yeah.) I have a friend right now, whose writing an 'adults' children book. And she wants me to illustrate it. I think i'd do that, and it'd be nice to see that get published.
I've had a few pictures published in minor magazines and such. *shrugs* Nothing huge, and poetry.com wanted to publish one of my poems (but I said no; it wasn't very good anyways). Plus, they want to publish everyones poems....
But no. Nothing written. Maybe one day, what i'd really love to do is a book of aesops fables. I LOVE aesops fables. And I could do some really sweet illustrations for them.

Hehe. I would LOVE to be published.
I write like crazy. When I've finished my current book about pirates, I'm gonna try to get that published. ^^ But I'm not even a teen yet, so like that's gonna happen, huh.
Oh well. I can always dream. ^^

My friend wrote a story that was published in a teen newpaper, and she was also asked if one of her storied were to be published in a book, but she said no...

I wish. I'd love to be published, but eh. For now, I'm going to stick with fanfiction.
I plan on publishing at least one thing, in any form, by the time I'm thirty.
*Remembers something*
Oooh, oooh! I have been published! One of my poems won a spot in a children's poetry book (I was in fourth grade at the time, and two or three of my classmates also won spots. Though my poem was better, in my opinion. Nyah nyah. *Sticks tongue out*), selected from a Nation-wide contest. So yes, I have been published, if one four to eight (not sure) line poem about the seasons in a thick book full of other kid's poems counts. xP (Unfortunately, I don't have that poem anymore, as my parents never got around to purchasing the book. Hrmph. And it's an annual contest, so I don't think I'd be able to get a copy of that year's. *Frowns*)
*Gloats*
*Ego explodes as random person reminds her of how sucky the poem was*

I love writing and drawing, but I'm skeptical about being publish, at my age I don't know if I'd like to be published as I don't think my writing is as good as I think it should be. I just write in hopes for know, not planning on anything really being published but writing for the joy of it.

Well, I suppose one of my poems was published in a poetry anthology of children's works for children, but I don't think many people submitted. It was in fourth grade, and the whole piece was about jumping and getting the whole world to jump (but not at the same time, of course).

my and my friends started our own zine, so we basically write 99% of it ourselves. it reaches a total of 25 or 30 people... does that count as publishing?

I've written a poem that was published. Whee...I'm hyper!

My REVIEWS have been published in newspapers. I stopped really writing anything in sixth grade, the latest thing I wrote that I thought was good was in English class. ._. I have it saved on the computer, actually.

I'd say that counts. Have you submitted it to any distros or looked into the lj zine communities to get wider readership?

If you count my school's newsletter, yes. If not.....
I'd love for one of my poems to be published. A little dark, but hey, in that case, maybe The New Yorker will take them!

If newsletters count... then yes. I've had a couple of poems and at least one drawing published in two different newsletters.

I've written MANY stories. I dream of at least 1 to be published.

I have a short piece in a teen anthology, and I write for a local newspaper. Other than that, no...but well, I've finished my book (300-some-odd pages) and just need to make revisions... after that, wish me luck!
