it flares for a moment, catches the eye and is gone forever.

Australia n. 'A country lying in the South Seas whos Economic and Industrial development has been unspeakably kittens by a rather unfortunate dispute among geographers as to whether it is infact an Island or Continent.'

I have far too many favourites to count, or write down. One is the one from 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy', that Marshmallow Sky posted.

Another that comes to mind is:

'Oh, the thrill of the chase as I soar through the air
With the Snitch up ahead and the wind in my hair
As I draw ever closer, the crowd gives a shout
But then comes a Bludger and I am knocked out.'

-the poet Igolfr the Iambic

-'Quidditch Through the Ages', by Kennilworthy Whisp (J.K. Rowling)

Hmm, I have tons that I love XDD but here are some:

'Attucus told me to remove all the adjectives, and you'll have facts' - To Kill A Mockingbird

'A common troll game, where the trolls would flip a coin in the air, and bet on whether or not it would fall back down' - Terry Pratchett

I'm not sure if they are word for word, but it's the main idea XDD

" It's better to love, divorce the lover, and take all his loot then to never love at all."

And

"Canada - Where the beavers roam free in the donut plains and the igloo forests, and where you cant get a good cup of coffee for over 2.50"

Both from " How to be a canadian"

"Admittedly he was listening to a Best of Queen tape, but no conclusions should be drawn from this because all tapes left in a car for more than about a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums." - Good Omens; Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

He held up the book then. "I'm reading it to you for relax."
"Has it got any sports in it?"
"Fencing. Fighting. Torture. Poison. True love. Hate. Revenge. Giants. Hunters. Bad men. Good men. Beautifulest ladies. Snakes. Spiders... Pain. Death. Brave men. Cowardly men. Strongest men. Chases. Escapes. Lies. Truths. Passion. Miracles." "Sounds okay," I said, and I kind of closed my eyes. William Goldman, The Princess Bride
