I know people like Phillip Pullman for His Dark Materials, but have you ever read any of his other, earlier work?

I don't mean the fiction for young children, like The Firework Maker's Daughter.

I own two good books by him called The Broken Bridge and The Butterfly Tattoo. The Butterfly Tattoo is especially good ^_^

At least read Ender's Game. It's the only one that I've read and it's really good.

Some of my favourite works in no particular order:

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (wronfully named) Trilogy, Douglas Adams
His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman
Stardust, Neil Gaiman
The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm, Nancy Farmer
Good Omens, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien

various works by Michael Crichton

There's probably more, but I can never think of these things on the spot.

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

Probably a bit Redundant Redundant:

Garth Nix for Sabriel, Lireael (Sp? It's in my room o-o), and Abbhorsen
Phillip Pullman for His Dark Materials series
C.S. Lewis for Chronicles of Narnia ( Voyage of the Dawn Treader was my favorite)**
Much more, must rack my brain...
Dan Brown for Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, and Eternity Code
Whoever wrote Farenheit 420 (I think it's 420...)

** Didja guys hear? They're making a movie of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Totally skipped The Magicians Nephew, plus it looks like it stinks. I saw the old movie of it, that was mediocre.

EDIT: I knew I forgot Redwal! It took me 3 months to read that in 4th grade. I loved it. Then I freaked out when I saw the show. I wanted to be Matthias!
