I've been using Firefox specifically for it's adblock properties on Neopets, but I'm a bit perplexed by this pesky ad that I've gotten at least 3 times today:



I've shown it with the Right-click options because it is notable that nothing says "Adblock this image" or something similar (I can't recall the exact phrasing).

My questions are, is something wrong with Firefox? Is it just this particular ad? How do I block this ad? What should I do to prevent other ads from doing this?

Its easy... click properties, get the URL of the ad, then go to tools, adblock, preferences, and trim off everything in the url after ".com" and add it. then it will be gone.

Thank you very much. Any theories about why it wouldn't block it the other way? I don't want to worry about this problem in the future.

I think its because its a flash or java advert, but installing http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.o ... popupsdie/ should do the trick I think

i run ad block with chromedit,i trim the addy as well but i also add an * so any other related ads from the same site will be blocked,for example i block the game buttons on the left(cause they annoy me) but its setup like this in adblock "http://images.neopets.com/buttons/*",without the " of course

Yeah I do that too, but the advertisers tend to come out with new ads and I have to block the new ones too.

yeah once in awhile theres some new ones that come out but are easily blocked in 5 seconds
