You need an internet provider, like Verizon.

i know its not free...and i checked and all this proxy information is filled out. but i get a connection error when i try the interent

Are you trying to connect to the internet with your phone, or simply download something and transfer it to your phone?

What model is your phone?

Who is your provider?

i have a sony ericsson w850i.

and my provider is orange

Try checking your provider's website for details. If not, I'd say check the phone instruction manual, and try again.
