Netscape font hiccups...

Fri Mar 11, 2005 11:59 pm

Lately, while I've been using Netscape 7.2 on my computer, after a bit of web browsing (specifically, playing NQ2) the fonts on the web pages get really messed up. It's not just on Neopets either...it messes with other websites as well. I've found that restarting Netscape clears it and puts it back to normal, but in 20 minutes or so it'll start spazzing out again. One time my computer gave me a message saying there was too little resources to run properly, but the only thing open besides Netscape was AIM. I don't want to point and scream virus until i have an opinion from you guys.

I'll try to get a screenshot the next time it happens.

Does it happen with other browsers?

If you are using Windows Me Netscape drains your resources really fast no matter what other programs you're running, I had to quit using it after they've upgraded past 7.0 sillydog has a netscape browser archive if you ever want to downgrade.

I don't use other browsers.

I'm running Windows 98 on this computer (ME's a piece of junk). I never had a problem until today, and only on this computer.

Spyware probably. If it was a virus I'd know by now, plus I didn't download anything that might've had one.

EDIT: I just noticed...it'll go away after a bit of browsing around PPT, but it won't go away while I'm on Neopets. This leads me to believe it's a problem that neopets is causing...perhaps the rare few flash ads that come past Adblock? It also only happens when using the internet...not when I'm playing a game (but they have problems of their own, which I know are driver issues).

No, but I can get one very quickly. Not that tons of spyware can get through Netscape and blocked ads anyway.
