Theres something wrong with my CD drive thing. I bought some blank CDs and tried to burn a disc using Jetaudio, and it failed; I tried about four times and it failed each time with a different CD each time. I went and downloaded a different CD burner program, SongstoCD, it managed to burn a CD, but then I tried again and it failed. I went and got Nero and it failed again. I know its not the CDs since my sister sucessfully burned a disc with her laptop. The CD drive model burner things is CDD4851 CD-R/RW. Anyone know what i can do?

What, if any, are the errors you've gotten from the different CD burning programs you've used?
A good rule of thumb when you're having problems burning is to turn off anything that uses a bunch of resources. Make sure you're not running a lot of needless processes in the background. Might want to temporarily disable anti-virus software from running while you're burning, but remember to restart it after you're done.

And when I tried burning that time i did what you said and closed down every program.

It seems your drive simply dislikes the CDs. Have you thought about a new firmware update for your drive? Its possibly updating this would fix the problem. Be very careful though. If you arent 100% sure you know what you are doing, get somebody who is a little more techy to do it for you.

It may be that your drive does not like the kind of CDs you bought, but that's not very likely - try another brand to rule it out though.
Another though is that it might be an I/O error - who installed the drive for you? Might be as simple as a bad IDE cable or incorrect connection.
Before you start messing with firmware updates (which can not usually be undone), try looking for software conflicts. (On Windows) A lot of different CD burning programs swap out drivers that were installed by previous programs. Sometimes by installing a new program, you break the old one or even both of the programs.
