I use FIREFOX to play neopets, and I've noticed that when I put my mouse cursor over an item, that little pop-up description that's supposed to pop up, doesnt pop up. (IE, for Pretzel it says "A savoury snack for your pet.")
What is the option in Firefox to change that lets those things pop up? (I'm assuming it's something in about:config, I just dunno what)[/b]

I just noticed today that it doesn't work for me either. It's the ALT tag text that's normally displayed as a tooltip isn't it?
Any help'd be appreciated.

Firefox does not show ALT, but you can download a plug-in for it.

Meh. You have to download a plug-in for
everything on Firefox. *huggles Maxthon, the lesser-known broswer*

That's because Firefox has no use for it, because it doesn't show broken images or something. o.o

If you really want to know what it says, you could always right click the image and then click properties.

True; but I'd rather just download the plugin. Actually; it might be because I'm still using Firefox 1.0. I really should update... (goes off to update firefox and download plugins)

No, it's actually because showing alt= like popup text isn't a part of the html standard, IE is at fault here. You should use title= for that. alt= is to be used as an alternate text describing images, if they can't be shown or if someone surfs your homepage with a text based browser, incapable of showing images.
Soo... neopets should change it to title=, because that works as intended both on IE and on Firefox, and it's true to the web standards set down by W3C.
