Optical Wheel Mouse! HELP! X_X

I've got a new optical wheel mouse from Lenovo, it's USB, so I replaced my old one which isn't USB. It worked fine and dandy for two days. Today, it suddenly stopped working. As in... it can still click, but it doesn't move about. The wheel still works too. I tried uninstalling it/re-installing it, that doesn't work. Help me... ;_;
And also, if I try to use my old mouse again. My computer doesn't detect it... at ALL.

Hm. Is your computer a 98? Because if so... when you are returning your old mouse to the computer, you'll have to restart it so the computer can detect the mouse.
Although I don't know anything you can do about the optical one, sorry.
