keyboard problem please help!!

i am on a laptop and when i type on the laptop keyboard half the letters come out as numbers. please help me fix it, and i'm bad with computers so simple terms are better.

Sounds like you have Numlock switched on... because laptop keyboards don't have a separate number pad like full-sized keyboards, the Numlock uses some of the QWERTY keys as numbers. There'll probably be a little indicator light for it somewhere. Find the Numlock key and switch it off

Failing that...umm...try a reboot?
