Can't load site?

Sat Nov 26, 2005 2:44 pm

I seem to have constant problems with technology :P

Anyway, the problem this time: I can't load my site, http://www.lost-thoughts.net - I initally thought it was a problem on their end, as they'd had some downtime recently, but I'm told that there's no problem when other people (both Australians and overseas) try and view it. Which leads me to believe it's my computer, or my connection, as it's not working on either of the computers in our house (we have a wireless network).

I've tried restarting my computer, and that hasn't worked. Any suggestions as to the cause of this? It's really annoying, especially considering I'm having critical errors on the two forums I host - which I can't currently fix because I can't get into cpanel :P

A few simple things to try: delete your cookies, history and temporary internet files.

I suggest trying a different web browser..or to see if it really is a prob wiht your comp you can try pinging it.. start>run>cmd (if you have xp I think it works or maybe its 'command' *shrugs*) anyway type ping http://www.lost-thoughts.net and see if you get results..if you are able to ping it then its a prob on your side..

Paul, I have.

SyNiX - I've tried with both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Neither work.

I tried pinging it though, and it worked =\

So it's a problem on my side.. any idea how to fix it? :P
<hr>

So.. It's worked twice, but 5 minutes later, it's stopped working again.

I restarted the computer with the internet connection, and it got it to work for a few mins, but it stopped again.

Now when I ping it it doesn't work, though I'm still told people can view the site. Er. Help? :)

Try this. I have used it many many many many times to fix PC's with weird internet problems that leftover spyware has caused
It resets all your internet connection settings in the registry and rebuilds the sockets and tcp/ip
it fixes really weird internet problems. If you have any settings (like static IP DNS etc) write them down first
