What is the cause/meaning of when a box comes up saying an illegal operation has been performed (and then whatever I was in closes)? This doesn't happen to me often but once in a while on my photo program or while I'm on the internet this happens...

It means that the program has performed an operation (probably in the background, not with your instruction) that isn't allowed of it. I've noticed it seems to happen a lot on older computers, mainly those with Windows 98 SE and below.

EDIT: and here's some more information, scroll down the page some until you see "Illegal Operation" written in bold type.

Thanks for answering my question! Yep, I have 98 SE (bleh..) but i should be getting a new computer in about a month so hopefullythat will be the end of this problem...
