Good place to store images

Mon Feb 27, 2006 4:41 am

hey, i'm new to actually creating my own user lookup and petpage... and some people directed me to here

i wanted to know if anyone knows a good place to store images for their userlookup/petpages. i stored my 1.4 MB bmp background on geocities, and their site only let 4.2 MB bandwidth/hour... so yeah. could i resize it without too much loss of detail? or is there a good place to store images with a higher bandwidth capacity?

I use photobucket.com to store any images I use. I know that a lot of people also use imageshack. I personally have had a lot of trouble lately viewing things from imageshack (don't know if this is just me though).

If you link me to your Geocities background, I'll resize it for you so that it's under 500kbs. :)

And yeah, Photobucket is good.

it's a background that's on neopets. here's a link: http://www.geocities.com/iam_lost26/babybackground.txt

heh... it's text cause geocities doesn't let ppl show pictures from other sites =)

okay, photobucket sounds good. i'm just worried that photobucket automatically resizes pictures uploaded, and so it won't be the right size. or am i crazy and that's something you could easily fix using the html? =|

bumpty, I don't know that photobucket will upload .bmp format. That may look the best, but bmp are horrible at being simply huge as an image format.

Uploading/resizing has nothing to do with html-- html is the code you use to put the picture somewhere (the address/url).

Irfanview I know many people use if they don't have access to a graphics program for resizing/changing format/compressing.
