Problems with cookies/laptop memory

Fri Jun 16, 2006 7:30 pm

I just got a new laptop, and it's not a bad little thing... and i've finally got the internet set up on it for wireless. But now... whenever I go to a site (such as PPT) or any of the other forums I frequent, the laptop acts like it hasn't seen any of the new messages and has started resorting to information it saw over a day ago.
I have tried clearing out my cookies/internet files, but this is still happening and i'm not sure why? Any computer savvy people out there have any clues?

It could be a problem with your settings.

If you use Firefox it could be your cache settings. Go to your options, then privacy, then cache. Where it says Use up to: __ MB of disk space for cache, look and see if it is '0' or a small number, if it is try changing it to 50.

If you use IE it could be your temporary internet file settings. Go to internet options, general, where it says temporary internet files click settings, where it says check for newer versions of stored pages check automatically. You can also select how much disk space to use here also, your choice.

Hope this fixes it :) If it doesn't, sorry my knowledge is limited :(
