How to add this to your website

Tue Jul 18, 2006 12:01 am

you know how on some sites they have the times for different countries.

Like New York or Vancouver.

I was wondering how you put those things on your own website.
What kind of codes do you put down. and what kind of language as well?
Do you have to have it connected with some other site that updates the time?

Any help would be appreciated.
:D

Well, there's probably sites that can give you little buttons for the time in other places, but if you wanted to make one on your own, you'd probably have to use php. Make some variables for the hour, the minute, and the seconds, then set those variables to the GMT time, then subtract however many hours from GMT to your time zone there are from the hours variable. Print it all to the screen with a message like "The time in London is 4:30:07" and bam, there you go! Anything more specific you need, just ask, but this is assuming whatever website you're using supports php.

i might not even try to add something like that if it sounds so complicated.
But, i'll try.

Well, there's something pretty easy right HERE, it's free, and you don't have to go through the whol hassle of making it yourself. Just click the city you want, then go down to the "Get this city's time on my website or blog" option. From there, it's just point and click, all the way to the end.

If that doesn't suit your fancy, do a google search on "time zone." Plenty of sites there man, although I'm not sure how many will give you what you want.
