Pretty Desktop Thing

Hola peoples.

One of my freinds once had a program on his computer that was like... a pretty little desktop bar. Much akin to what applemacs have, but for PC's!

I wish to tidy up, and prettify my desktop, can anyone recommend a program similar to the one I just descirbed, or anything else cool?
