Knows nothing about Firefox, sorry. I know that some people on the photobucket forum have had problems with viewing images with firefox, so maybe if you go to the forum there and do a search you can find an easy answer? Just a thought  Here's the forum url: http://forums.photobucket.com/

Christopher, my psp has done goofy things like that. I ended up having to uninstall/reinstall it (yes, a complete and utter pain - even with backing everything up on disc). But that did do the trick for me.

I've tried that, I think it's bcause my computer suddenly began mismanaging its memory (more than it used to) around April (which is when this started).

One day the computer ran so sluggishly for no apparent reason, and after all kinds of deletings, reinstallings, and delousings, it has never been the same. Often after awhile if I type something I have to wait for the computer to catch up, and when clicking on a folder it takes ages to load. As I've found that photoshop works better if I kill every running process other than it, I'm fairly sure it's that. Silly Windows 98.

We got a new computer a few days ago. Today was the first time I tried to use the microphone, and it's not registering at all.

There's definitly nothing wrong with the mic, I used it for ages on the old computer, plus I tried a new one which also didn't work. I've tried running all the sound test type things I can find - the ones on the computer and on instant message programs.

My stepdad said this has happened with every new computer he's had, but he can never remember how to fix it. He tried everything he could think of, but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

((Edit)) Okay, fixed it, though I can't actually remember what I did...

I'm having problems with my sound. It's as if the foreground sound and background sound have been switched. So when I listen to a music for example, the instrument sounds are louder than the singing voices. I've tried tweaking with the audio settings, but it still can't be fixed. Can anyone help?

Here's the problem.

My brother has changed my account to Limited, and now I can't download anything. My parents won't do anything about it and my brother has a password. I think I remember reading something about tricking the computer into thinking you are an administrator by entering something into the Command Prompt.

I can't remember what it was but if anyone knows how I can fix this problem please PM me or reply here.

Why don't you ask your brother? Or is there any specific reason you don't?

He changed the account so that I wouldn't be able to download. I don't think he'd change it back if I just ask him to.

I think I said something about this before. Here's how to do it:

Start -> Run -> Enter in 'cmd' or 'command'.

Type: control userpasswords2

Note that there is no space between 'userpasswords' and '2'.

This will bring up a box. Click on your account name, then 'properties'. Click on the 'Group Membership' tab, and then either set yourself as 'Standard User' or 'Other -> Administators'. Click 'apply' and the problem should be fixed. Let me know if it worked.

NOTE: For other users with Limited accounts set by parents, I don't recommend doing this. It might get you into trouble. ;x

Is it possible that you don't have Plug&Play enabled? (Assuming that you are running Windows).

Try this:

Start -> Run -> Type: msconfig

The System Configuration Utility should pop up. Click on the 'Services' tag. Scroll down and find 'Plug and Play'. See if the box next to it is checked. If it's not, check it and click 'Apply'. Restart and see if it works.

If that doesn't help, go to the Control Panel -> Printers and Other Hardware. Then, 'Add Hardware'. See if the computer can detect it.

Beyond that, I dunno.

I am running Win XP and IE 6 and getting regular updates via the web. For the last 4 days I have been having problems with the Neopets clock.

Up until now every 2nd or 3rd refresh the Neo clock display loses the minutes and seconds and displays the words TRUE. For example:

12:True:True am NST

The problem has now escelated and it will refresh the time, but automatically goes to the above setting.

I have run Neo in Firefox and it doesn't happen. I recently installed the Google Toolbar.

I recently ran my Ad aware program, and removed some tracking cookies. I have AVG virus protection, which has not found any viruses on my computer.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what is going on and if it can be fixed?

If there is no problem in Firefox, then why are you still usng IE6?
It would seem logical to use Firefox anyway if it works and IE doesn't, but I am sure you have a perfectly good reason not to use Firefox (if you don't then you might as well use it.)

I want to know why it is doing it and how to fix it, that is why I posted my question. As it is only an issue on Neopets, I thought someone might know.

Of course I can just use Firefox. Duh. I use both browsers but prefer IE.

And I am sure you have a perfectly good reason for posting your opinion, but if you can't help, then don't post.

Obviously, no-one knows or as you demonstrated, incapable of giving an answer so as usual I will work it out for myself.

Have you tried uninstalling the google tool bar and see if that helps?

Fixed the problem by myself. I uninstalled Google but that didn't help. I ran the Adaware program again. It fixed it.

No idea what caused the problem, but it has been fixed.
