MPAA = Motion Picture Association of America
RIAA = Recording Industry Association of America
Lets say you are legally downloading episodes of an unlicensed anime and then, unbeknownst to you they go and license it. You continue to download thinking you are acting legally, when infact you are not. To give yourself a little bit of security and provide yourself some time to find out these new developments before you get nasty letters, there are programs to help.
If you use Azureus as your client, there is a plugin known as safepeer. You can download and install it using the plugin wizard. If you use another client, or just dont want to use safepeer ( or even if you want to use this
and something else ), I recommend a program named Peer Guardian 2.
These programs download lists of IP's which really shouldnt be allowed to view your data transfers, and blocks them. Pretty nighty.
Of course, this method would also work for anyone just downloading any type of torrent. But I couldnt possibly encourage that sort of thing.
