Since both of my PCs recently exploded I've been doing all my computer stuff on 'my' laptop (it's really my mom's. from work, but she got a newer one so, it's basically mine.) Anyway, I was wondering how safe/reasonable it is to keep them on for extended periods of time. What is the risk of overheating?

Hmm, well, I'm no expert on laptops, as I don't have anywhere near the finances to buy one (I'm 14.), but I googled Overheating Laptops, and I found a link that might (or might not) be of interest.
