Hi I was wondering if there where any comp experts that wouldnt mind me picking their brains?

Im having a problem getting into neopets but only in my username, everyone else who uses neopets from my comp are having no problems at all.

I myself am a premium member and I though at first that the portal which crashed and dissapeared for some reason on me late on Sat night was the problem. However even after the crash I still was able to browse neopets although without neopets premium benefits ie Advertisment were showing up as I was browsing! I then logged out for the night and then when I tried to log on again in the morning this is when the problem began.

Ive tried logging on in my username using Internet explorer, Firefox and MSN browsers but the page wont load!
I'm getting as far as putting my password in and that is it.

Ive cleared my cache, reset my homepage to http://www.neopets.com rather than http://www.neopets.com/portal, turned off my firewall all without success.. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks In advance,
Yunamaxieboytanda

Helpers please be patient as I am on my way out but will defo answer any posts when I get back.. Thanks

I tried to log in using firefox thos was the error I recieved...
Redirection limit for this url exceeded. Unable to load the requested page.

Any Ideas?
At least firefox is giving me an error message...!

have you recently upgraded your firefox?

try:
Open up FireFox
Tools -->Options
Click the + next to cookies
Click Clear
Click Exceptions and click Remove All Sites.

problem seems to be from a re-direction issue

do you use a proxy perhaps?

i would go in and actually delete all the cookies on the machine as well
it could be a corrupt cookie

no I havent upgraded firefox.. I rarely use firefox and only opened it to try to see if I could logon via that. I have done what you suggested above but it has not worked. There are system cookies that I tried to delete but I cant delete them!
I dont use a proxy and Im only getting the re-direction message when using firefox, Im getting no message at all using the other two browsers.
I have now uninstalled my firewall just incase it was the problem but its still not letting me logon.
Below is a link to my logon page

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b120/ ... eopets.jpg

as you can see the green loading bar is full but thats as far as Im getting, also I noticed that if I close the window down, when I open it again other users cant login unless I click log out, then they have no problems logging in, I think its under the impression that Im logged in!

sorry about the link, I dont know how to put an image in the post.

try this in Internet explorer
Goto Tools ---> Options

General tab, delete cookies, delete files, clear history
security tab, click the default level for all 4 zones (internet, local, trusted, restricted)
privacy tab under the popup blocker (only if you have ie6) make sure neopets is not listed as a block, same thing under the sites button

content tab, clear ssl state, auto complete, clear forms, clear passwords
connections tab, LAN settings, make sure that only "automatically detect settings" is checked

programs tab, reset web settings
advanced tab, restore defaults

try the above and see what happens

what is the version of IE you have and what windows version do you have?
you shouldn't have needed to re-boot after doing my last set of instructions

Is this a tough one? Im beginning to panic now as Ive had this neopets account for nearly 1 and a half years and I dont want to lose it.

no Ive not got round to trying it yet.

Ive looked up my username on my friends account who logged in okay on my machine and everything seems to be okay with my account.
Did I mention that the portal crashed on me?.. I was thinking that maybe my premium account is causing the problem as I had the premium sidebar as my default.. Do you think that if for some reason I dont have premium anymore and because I have the sidebar as default that that could be the problem... mind you I have no reason to think that anything would be wrong with my premium account... I think I grasping at straws now... The portal did dissapear completely and when I was browsing neopets the portal was no longer an option to me!!! It was only when I logged out that the problem of logging in came up...

I have no idea about the portal as I have never used it and I dont have premium. Have you tried e-mailing premum support since you are a subscriber? dont you get a special prefference?

I can mail them but I need to get into the portal 1st and in order to get into the portal I need to be signed into neopets..I think I was just clutching a straws with the portal thing.. Im pretty sure its to do with my machine..
Hopefully I can login via another machine.. If its ok with you I will let you know how I get on.
Thanks for your time and help.

no problem - it will help narrow down the scope of what is causing the problem if you can sign in on a different machine

If you're in the US, there's a toll free number for premium support - 1877NEOPIAN, you could also try techsupport @ neomail. com (yes I put spaces in - too many bots and things that troll forums, etc. for email addys). Give them your email to contact as well as all pertinent information about your account and the problem you're having.

I've never heard of anyone having a problem like this, especially since other people can log on using your computer and you can't log on anywhere. I know some premium members had a problem with their portal/charm disappearing and webmail going wonky, but I thought that had all been fixed.

Good luck!
