I had to move my computer downstairs, and when I plugged everything back in I realized that something was eating a lot of space on my external hard drive. So I went to delete it, got the file directories messed up, and ended up deleting the entire contents of my hard drive. Keep in mind that that's EVERYTHING I've done on my computer for the last three years.

So, is there any way I can get it back? I just deleted it literally half an hour ago, and it's not in the recycle bin. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have Norton SystemWorks or anything similar? Because the version of Norton I've got comes with a Protected Recycling Bin, which saves even permanantly deleted files. If you've got it, try getting to it. The files might be there. Otherwise, I dunno.

You can always do "undo delete" if you haven't done anything in file manager since then.

If you did it through dos, you can probably do "undelete"

I've been moving music off of my iPod since I deleted everything, so I can't undo it.

I think I've heard of a backup file or something that Windows saves deleted stuff too, but that probably wouldn't work if I shut the computer down. Which I will have to do very soon.
