So they gain strength when they're beaten? Hah. I never realised that.
Personally, though, it's not so much about the opponent's strength, yet, as it is about my own patience. ;) I have little.

It's funny, though. I had just sent a question to the editorial on the lack of war. Heeh. I am so magical, I created the war! :D

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but the remaining challengers are still on the list. The other thing is, I don't remember the last war. Huh. So does anyone remember, is this the first time the battledome list hasn't been switched completely? (Cause that's all I remember.)

It's weird that if they're beaten, they gain strength. It doesn't make sense to me. If we beat them, they are supposed to get weaker and weaker! Isn't that more logical? Image

Yep! I posted an explanation in the other thread. I'll repost:

Here's how BD opponents work: their strength and defence boosts are the same as their hit points. So when you start with these guys, all three of them are below the 20 boosts and therefore very weak. Their weapons don't do much damage and they can't block much of your attack. But as you fight them more and more, their hit points go up, and therefore, so do their strength and defence boosts. Their weapons don't change, but they will start doing more damage and blocking more of your attacks with those weapons. Once their strength and defence are higher than yours, you will start to find them more difficult.

Boosts are listed here.

And sily_sicily, you beat them enough times, you're gonna make them angry, and more determined to kill you. ;)

Man, I go off Neo for a day for exams, and come back to a war.

Pity my pets suck and I have no decent weapons XD

i'm loving how weak these guys are... i'm not much of a battle domer so my pets are all rather weak... i was really worried i wouldn't be able to do this bit

WAAARRRR!!!
*bounces around excitedly*

Hehe, sorry, this is my first war. I'm glad we have some weak opponents to start with, so I can at least fight a bit, before they get to hard for my poor newbie pets.

There's something odd though. When I'm in a battle, where you can type a message, it says this:
"You cannot type messages while you're under 13, without parental permission.
You can select a message to send from the list below:"

Which wasn't there before. Not that it really matters, I'm not fighting a real person so I have no desire to say anything. I just wonder why it's like that, since it wasn't there before when I battled, and I am not under 13. o_O

Here's how BD opponents work: their strength and defence boosts are the same as their hit points

correction, same or less than their hit points :)

Thanks! I always knew HP went up, but never strength. Watching these guys though, it's a little more obvious than it was before. :)

And I found a way of helping my patience! Heh. Watch a movie. It works... kinda. But then I get hooked in the movie and forget the battling occasionally. :(

(ETA: Anyone wants to help, I've posted in the battledome thread. I'm clueless with weapons. Really, it's bad. x.X )

Okay I give up. My pets are just too weak. I think I managed to beat them three times each, but then I kept getting draws, so I'm bowing out for now. I hope I don't have to give up on the plot altogether now...I was really enjoying it.

Is that only when their hit points get higher than 700? I know that's the top boost.

My little level 13 pet got beaten by a couple of crabby furious stones! I'll have to buy more equipment...

Thu Nov 02, 2006 10:30 am

I don't know, but for me the Furious Stones' HP is increasing by 1 per win, whilst the Ominous Stones' HP is increasing by 1 per almost 2 battles.

Thu Nov 02, 2006 10:37 am

The Ominous Stones' HP is increasing by about 1 per 2 or 3 battles for me, it seems. I'm not paying too close attention. Heh.

Just reached over 60 wins with Ominous - and with a new 9-iconer, I'll get single hit wins for a while longer. I'm gonna try to get 100 for each set, but I don't know how hard the others are yet.

I'm just wondering, now, how long they will stay up for. It looks like it's just for this part of the plot, so they'll be gone soon, I imagine.

Got this while finishing the fight, weird..
