And so it begins? It would appear that the Mysterious Dapper Chomby has all of the inklings of a plot. As such, we should move our discussions/theories/etc. here.

Main Pic of destroyed eating table...

That went well... except for the monster rampaging all over the town square. There seems to be a monster-shaped hole in our plan.

It was such a good plan, too. It had bullet points, diagrams, the works.


I'm thinking we should have waited until the monster wasn't in the middle of town. Any idea where it went, Corbin?


Given the chaos it left behind, I'm going to need some time to find the trail. You might want to look into what went wrong with the potion we put in the Spooky Food. You know, so next time isn't quite so exciting.


Definitely. The potion should have done more than just revert the creature to its natural form. At least it can't shapeshift for a while. But now there's a monster on the loose in Neovia, and it's angry...

Looks like we've got at least two major things coming up...finding the monster, and figuring out what went wrong with the potion...the latter of which is giving me flashbacks to TOW's potions <shudder>

I'm kinda surprised there's no comic. Maybe that'll come next? Odd to have a full fledged plot with no comic...

Hmmm....I am now confused.

TNT is advertising in the news and with its own board - Haunted Faire, BUT there is no Masks Of Dread this year. This plot is superseding it. Without Masks of Dread, there really isn't a Haunted Faire event.

The Haunted Faire board is #38, so it seems we will still get a board for SFC (usually #7 for plots).

When you visit Haunted Faire - Deserted Cart you get this message:

Ah, you've come to me at a bad time, I'm afraid. Some kind of monster ripped through my cart not long ago and destroyed half a year's labour. There'll be no Masks of Dread this Halloween. If you're desperate to have a mask for a good caper, take a gander at the ones below.

I'm still not sure this will be a full fledged plot, or if it's going to be a short event. True, they left board 7 open - so they could be planning on opening a plot-specific board (and I can definitely see why they wouldn't have done so yet, if they didn't want to ruin the surprise of this being a plot when the eating contest began).

There are a LOT of similarities between the way this (plot? event?) has started and TFR started. TFR shut down things as well, and all rather abruptly.

I will be very happy if this is labeled by TNT as a plot...but until then, I'm going to stay reserved and think of it as an (nice surprise) event so I am not disappointed if it's not a plot.

It seems more and more like a puzzle plot and maybe other steps.

The dialogue reveals that:

1. Kell needs to experiment with the potion and needs somewhere to conduct them.

2. Corbin is going to find Scarlet.

Part 6 involves a puzzle.

Magic Melody: Rearrange the plants into the pattern you suspect will be most effective. When you think you have the best solution, activate the fan. The plants will begin their enchanting music and Kell will measure the melody and make notes. He probably knows what he's doing. Good luck...


A tip to solving it:

*Put all plants on the first row of the grid.
*Then just move the first one, one space.
*Pull the lever - look at the message, it will tell you how many mDB it is.
*Keep moving the plant one space as the mDB decreases.
*If it increases, move the plant back one space and leave it.
*Move on to the next plant and repeat the steps.

Whoops... looks like you've succeeded and fallen asleep! You must have found a bit of melody that Kell can use. Still, being asleep does kind of make it hard to do anything. Better come back tomorrow when you're awake.

ETA: News is up. They've linked to board #7, but they're still not calling it a plot or event at this point. Stop messing with us, TNT.

Nah, they just update the picture as it next event steps happen. Same thing they've done with plots. I suspect this will be our Halloween event for the year, and won't last much past that.
