alright, i've been away from PPT for, wow, over a year now. and even though i'm way busier than i was before, i think it's about time that i came back.
so someone update me what's happened! i see there's so much new stuff, the boards look different, and the user prefs are different too! and there's no more awesome red board setting

Hey there and Welcome back to PPT!
The new look to PPT may take some getting used to, but after that everything is soooo much easier. Really.
I adapted really easily to the new boards and layout after a week or so but that's just me, just take some time and explore around and Im sure you'll get the hang of things around here.

We migrated to [bunch of random letters that mean nothing to me] version 3(beta). Themes will come as soon as it's out of beta, as well as a few other minor things.

There's tons of new things about the forums. We were down for about two weeks working everything out. There is a "Mark Forums Read" link on the right side of every board, right above where it says "Last Post". Take your time looking around and getting used to the changes. If you need help with any of the new stuff, remember to just PM someone. Enjoy spending time here again!

Welcome back to PPT. Sadly, I am in the same boat as Christopher, but it is nice seeing you back even if we didn't notice you were missing. Hope you have fun here once more.

Hey, the forums don't automatically mark threads as read if you start a new session, or restart your browser or something. so do i have to just live with it, or is there something else i can do, other than marking forums as read myself?

I don't think there is anything else you can do. I personally like the feature though, because if I logged out it would mark everything read.
