maybe you could add a birthday calendar where people CAN add there birthdays and when it's there birthday it showes a birthday cake next to their name!

i thought i saw it before somewhere... anway, is that possible?

I think this is a nice idea. Everyone hopes to have a friend of theirs make a birthday topic for them, instead of them making one themselves. This way, there's a bigger chance of that happening!

It's a feature on vBulletin...another reason why PPT should go vB.

yeah, thats a good idea..... or maybe just in general a "calendar" where people can put events going on on that day...... like you could flip through the months, and a little blank calendar would show up for each month.

Then, you click on the day you want to see events for, and you can add some, and see what else is going around ppt.... whether it be "mod applications are closing" "new ppt caption contest begins :) " or "its Dawn's birthday today, w00t!"...... i think a calendar idea is good... or even just a birthday calendar...... *especially since my birthday is in 7 days... whoo hoo!* but maybe even something better then just a B-day calendar?

It's a good suggestion, but what about the new members who weren't aware of the feature? They might see all the other people having little icons (as an example) and think it happens automatically, and then feel 'left out' if their own birthday wasn't celebrated.

Eh. Not saying that it would never happen, but that's just a downside to it.

in vBulletin there's an option where you put in your birthday and it's on the calendar automatically. I'm not sure if there's such a hack for phpbb.

I think it's a great idea. I've mentioned this before to a mod. A calendar would just make things a lot more organized. I always feel bad when I miss someone's birthday.

Well, there are other features a new member wouldn't know about, like the Usergroups. They would have to find out like everyone else does: word of mouth or exploring the site. :)

Then again, we might have people posting bogus stuff, and it would just be a hassle for the mods.

The PPT Forums actually once was on vBulletin and yes it had a Birthday Calendar then.

Sadly one day PPT left vBulletin and the PPT Forums lost the Birthday Calendar feature which I still miss a lot to this day.

How do I know this?

Simple. It is because when I joined the PPT Forums for first time PPT was using vBulletin then to host the Forums.

I expect a lot members may have forgetten when the PPT Forums were using vBulletin or that they didn't know.

Anyway bringing back the calendar is a excellent idea Jens.

They should go back to vB then. I'm sure some older members could donate money to Remy so he can buy a license.
vB > god.

I like making my own topics. :P

A birthday calendar would be nice. So people know how long they have to save up to get me something on Neopets for my birthday.

HAHAHAHAHAHA no.

It would be cool to see when PPT members are celebrating their birthday, though.

That's a fair point :)

Though I don't even know if there is a hack for phpbb. *goes to search*

Before you joined we were on vB.

I remember this feature.. I wouldn't care if we had it or not. If we switched to vB then the forums would probably be down, again, and people would be saying "OMG! What happened to PPT?!?!" "My posts! Theyre gone! AGAIN!"

-_-
