So...when exactly are you guys planning on making PPT look like it did before the upgrade? You said this new "look" was temporary, and that you'd make it all prettyful and nice again, but when? This really feels weird, and I think it's making me less active because it's so intimidating and scaryful. :( So, um, yeah...if you have any idea when this will be fixed, can I please have an estimate?

No, I never officially left; yes, I am gone forever. I have also permanently left AIM. If you need to contact me, drop a line on LJ. Same username.

Only thing I really notice is that Arrow is looking a bit more plump lately.

Other than the font and the top bar, the layout's really quite similar.

It's slightly different, but the format and basically everything is the same.

I thought the reason that the mods hadn't been installed was because it wasn't a stable release of phpbb3.0 (I'm unsure as to whether this current release is now stable or if it's the same one) and there is no point installing mods that will just need to be reinstalled once the version is updated. I dunno, that's just me.

That is accurate. We don't want Hunter to go through all the work of installing them, when they will need to be reinstalled.

There are no radical plans to change the "look"; there may be minor changes when/if we install additional mods once the final stable version of phpBB 3.0 is out.

Same problem as the last time you brought this up - the forums do not look that significantly different and you fail to explain what exactly it is that makes you so intimidated.

No, you can't have an estimate; the task you outline is ill-defined.

What does that mean for color schemes? Will we get them back?

I wasn't around in the time of color schemes, but that would be nice. That and a few more smilies, if possible (*thumbsup* and *jawdrop* come to mind)...but unfortunately, I'm no good at computer art, so don't go telling me to make them myself.

If they're brought back (I see no reason why they wouldn't be, but I don't know any of the behind-the-scenes stuff), they'd probably be put into place with the stable version also.

I know that I had enough effort installing mods on forums I've run before, and while Hunter is a bit more technically savvy than me so he can do them faster, it'd still take time XD

Color schemes are really minor changes - there's little actual template code to rewrite, so it comes down to getting a ste of images and a stylesheet uploaded. So yes, they'll return eventually.

The banner is coded to be 400x130px, and you can see the result. :P
