Locked topics

Question: How come threads are locked after a while if nothing that warranted it's locking (ie flamming) has happened. Just wondering.

Sometimes the owner wants the topic to be locked or maybe the last post was a month of two back. Those might be some reasons but i'm not a moderator so i don't know the rules for locking. But when a topic is locked there is always a good reason for it, that much i'm sure of.

Also a rule of thumb os @ 10 pages lock a topic and pending on the issue make a new thread.(threads likely to get renewed are screenies, new item, etc)

Some mods also like locking old topics to prevent people from reviving them.

There are some cases such as when Neopets or something is down, those threads can be locked once the service is back up without .

The decision to lock with or without a reason depends on the situastion and the moderator (although we encourage in cases when it locked in the midst of a conversation.)
