Is that going to come back? I feel it was very useful, currently on just the first 3 pages of general chat there are 22 locked threads, wouldnt re-instating the academy help to educate newcomers, preventing such noodle-wranglery?

I think the main point of it was to stop the newbie hazing and such. It was taken down in March, I think, cause the hazing stopped. I do think it'd be nice for it to return, though. 
...But then again, most people don't even have 150 posts now, and most people here aren't newbies. The board wouldn't really serve its purpose unless post counts were restored (judging by how many members there are, that'd be a hassle) or some other alternative would come up.

It was just like a test forum. Well, that's not exactly what I mean, but it was never permanent. It was just made to get the newbies introduced to some people and get to know the forums better.
