I don't see why editing posts need to count as a new post. Is it possible to make editing posts not count as a new post? This is because flood control makes you unable to edit your posts quickly, and it is especially frustrating if you made a big blooper and need to correct it quick before anyone else sees it (for example in werewolf...
).

Yeah, I was annoyed with this as well. It really got on my nerves a few times. I don't know how it'd be able to be fixed though =/

I always forget things so I deal with the wrath of the flood control frequently... yeah... really annoying...

Editing posts count as a new post?
test.
Ok.. I tried it and editing posts (as I thought) do not count as a new post. Also while editing my post to say 'test' I didn't come across a flood-control message, so either you guys have super-fast internet and I have a super-slow computer... or you're trying to edit your post like a fangirl is trying to get a autograph from SL.

I'm fairly sure that it does, actually. I've come across that error myself.
*tries*
Hmmm. Yep, got the error. Maybe you're just slow, Nessy ;P

Think about why flood control exists. Then consider what editing a post really constitutes. Then cover yourself in marmite and lay on an ant hill.
Sorry about the last one. I always get strange urges when people take instruction so easily.

I just don't think there's an easy way to remove that restriction just for post editing. As I recall, the flood control acts on any post action, and editing counts in that. As far as I'm aware, there's no real way to selectively remove that restriction without recoding a lot of things from scratch... (= Really, though, we have a relatively low restriction on posting times -- I've been on boards that limit you to one every 60 (and in some cases, 90) seconds, and I don't recall ours being quite that high.
If it's really come a problem for you guys, perhaps you might want to make a habit of previewing first and trying to catch any necessary corrections then?

Tsk. C'mon guys. If anything I'm the only one that should be complaining about that flood filter.. with all those PMs I have to send out... for the games
But yeah. Think of it as another reason to think before you post. Those 15s could cost you your life
No need to change it up... (unless its for me that is =) )

The flood control for editing didn't exist before the downtime before last downtime. :P In other words, before the crash.
At first it bugged me (I always find something that I want to add; maybe a word or phrase), but I find that counting a looong 5 seconds before hitting that submit button constitutes as a solution. :D
Sending PMs is a little more grueling though, but the same thing goes. *has recurring memories of sending PI reminders and Secret Santa PMs*

I absolutely hate the flood control when editting posts, but last time I stated my full opinion on it I was yelled at by Jim, so I'll just leave it at that.
You sure some super coding genious can't get rid of it when editting posts? D:

Oh I do believe there is a mod for it somewhere, just that we feel it's uneeded for the time. 10 seconds or so is not much of a wait to change something.

Um... *slides away*

If you people are so bugged by it, double-check your posts before you hit the submit button ...

Just preview it, and read the post over.
Just for the fun of it, however...

There's a 10 second cooldown on editing posts -- it's not that much, really (just preview / preread them if its that important
).
There's also a 45 second cooldown on replies and a 2 minute cooldown on topics.
